Lickmolassy grave-slab (3)
Christy Cunniffe

Consists of the upper section of a large seventeenth-century grave-slab executed in limestone in the ruined remains of Lickmolassy (Portumna) medieval parish church. This slab bears a central cross with Fleur de Lis terminals. An ornate Sacred IHS monogram with a cross fills the central lozenge. The inscription in Latin is damaged and only partially legible.  The date is also missing. The name is partially damaged but seems to read as Dermot Cunegan? – part of this may be missing.
