This following inscription is inscribed on a side panel of a large limestone box tomb on the south wall of Ballinakill medieval parish church. It records the names of a number of members of the Aylward family who lived in Ballinagar House, near Woodford.

The inscription reads:

Grateful Remembrance of the Tenderness and

Affection of Kind and Indulgent Parents. This

Monument was Erected by Mary Blake otherwise

Aylward to Perpetuate the memories of Nugent

Aylward Esq of Balinagare who dyed the 10th day of

August 1783 and Catherine Aylward otherwise

French his wife who also Departed this life the 27th day

of December 1786 whose soul may participate the

Eternal bliss of the Heavenly Mansions. Amen
