Children's Burial Ground

Toorleitra Children’s Burial Ground survives as a previously unrecorded monument straddling a natural mound in commercial forestry. The burials are marked by north-south rows of uninscribed sandstone slabs. One headstone does exit. This was erected by Rev. John Coleton for his father and sister who are buried here. This monument is to be part of a community archaeology project where local volunteers will be introduced to basic archaeological survey skills.
