Galway County Council procured the services of 7L Architects to carry out a Conservation Management plan for Killeroran Church and graveyard, a Galway County Council owned site, on the outskirts of Ballygar, in North Galway.  The site comprises the ruins of a church within a graveyard with a number of interesting architectural features and monuments of interest including an elaborate replica of a round tower constructed by Denis Henry Kelly, a local landlord.

Community Monuments Fund

Funding was provided under the Community Monuments Fund (CMF) awarded by the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage (DHLGH) and administered by Galway County Council (GCC). Prepared by 7L Architects and Dominic Delaney & Associates, the purpose of the plan is to assess the history, cultural significance and current condition of the ruined church and its graveyard setting. It assesses the threats to its significance; outlines a conservation strategy and makes recommendations
for enhancement, improved management and interpretation.
