Field Trip 18th April 2024
To Celebrate International Day for Monuments and Sites 2024 Galway Community Archaeology Project organised a tour to a number of sites and monuments that received Community Monuments Funding in the County of Galway.
Field Trip Details
A bus will leave Galway County Council Offices 9.30 am, pick up Oranmore , Athenry , Galway Plaza and Loughrea. We will visit Kilboght, Abbeygormican and St Kerrills, Gurteen. The aim is to highlight sites that would not normally get exposure and showcase community monuments at their best. Whether you are involved in community projects yourself, have an interest in archaeology, ecclesiastical heritage, want to know more about conservation projects or just have a fun day out come along and join us for the day. This is a free event supported by Galway County Council Heritage Office.
Galway Community Archaeology Project is funded by Galway County Council and The Heritage Council.

The bus is now fully booked, but you are also welcome to join us at Abbeygormican 11am, Kilboght 12.15pm or St. Kerrills, Gurteen 2.30pm
