Nineteenth-century water reservoir on Redmount Hill

This unusual structure functioned as a water reservoir on the Redmount Hill farm of the Pollock Estate. Redmount Hill is half way between the villages of Lawrencetown and Eyrecourt and is the highest point in the region. Pollock was a modern and innovative farmer. Pollock had a model farm, a pipe factory, a mill, a brick factory, a dairy and many more agri/industrial projects running on this various farms. This reservoir supplied water to his Redmount farm.
