Kilconnell Abbey Well
Enclosed well
Christy Cunniffe
A circular stone enclosed well occurs in the fields to the north east of Kilconnell Friary. It is likely that this is the original well associated with the friary. A modern pump house beside it supplies domestic water to the local community. A similar well known as the Abbey Well enclosed by a circular wall can be seen in Clonfert within a few hundred metres of the site of the Augustinian Abbey.
