Dogs graveyard

Many of the grand estate houses had special places set aside for the burial of pets. A number of inscribed stones can be seen in the walled garden at Coole Park for dogs that were special to the Gregory family. Similarly a small burial ground for dogs is found adjacent to the walled garden at Lisbeg Clonfert. There are three marker-stones present, two inscribed and one un-inscribed. The two inscribed markers bear the names and short stories or biographies of the dogs.
