This single block of sandstone from an arch with Romanesque ornament is fixed into a window in the west gable of the medieval church. It is decorated with a chevron containing interlace ornament. This fragment likely derived from a lost Romanesque doorway from the medieval parish church. Its preservation is an important indicator of another high status church with Romanesque features in Galway.
